Chateau Fayat is the result of the merger of three estates of the Fayat family located in the Pomerol appellation - Prieurs de la Commanderie, La Commanderie de Mazeyres and Vieux Chateau Bourgneuf. The estate covers 16 hectares and has an exceptional variety of soils. The owner of Chateau La Dominique, Clement Fayat, purchased property in Pomerol in 1984 and began to manage the affairs of the chateau. In 2006, Clement Fayat and Jean-Luc Thunevin, owner of Chateau Valandrot, jointly purchased Vieux Chateau Bourgneuf and decided to produce wine under the name Domaine Fayat-Thunevin. After three millesimes they decided to divide the vines. Part of the harvest from these vines is used in the production of Chateau Fayat wine.
