Giuseppe Quintarelli was born on March 19, 1927 in the municipality of Negrar in the Veneto region. His father, Silvio, grew the vineyards in a share system. Already in 1906, Silvio Quintarelli exported barrels of his wine to America. The official founding date of the Quintarelli farm is 1924. Giuseppe, Silvio's youngest son, took over the farm in 1950 and immediately began a program of improvement and expansion. He was considered by many to be the best producer of Amarone della Valpolicella, which he aged for seven years in large Slavonian oak barrels.
