CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD

CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD

CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD

In 1868, Chateau Lafite was acquired by Baron Rothschild, which had a very favorable effect on the further fate of the estate and the quality of its first and second wines. Today, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild consists of 100 hectares of excellent vineyards located on the picturesque slopes of Poyac. The average age of the vines here is 40 years (it is from these grapes that the first wine of the estate is created - Chateau Lafite Rothschild), but there are also 80-year-old and 100-year-old old-timers.
The excellent quality of the wine is explained primarily by the unique terroir, which is mainly represented by limestone soils. The Chateau produces small harvests, but the grapes are rich in valuable microelements that are responsible for the aromatic and flavor complexity of the wine. Until recently, the aging period of Chateau Lafite Rothschild was 32–36 months, but now it has been reduced to 18–20 months, but the wine is still stored in traditional oak barrels. In 1995, thanks to the efforts of Charles Chevalier and the new technical group of the estate, the quality of Chateau Lafite Rothschild wine reached a new, even higher level, which was achieved through a more strict selection of grapes, because now only 30-40% of the harvest goes to the production of the estate's first wine . Thanks to this innovation, today Chateau Lafite Rothschild has even greater complexity, charm, elegance and, importantly for the great wines of Bordeaux, durability! Buy Chateau Lafite Rothschild wines online from VINO&VINO wine and spirits shop and enjoy free delivery in Yerevan.
