Petrolo, based in northern Tuscany since the 1980s, has produced various wines from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malvasia, and Trebbiano Toscano. This is a historic wine-growing area and traces of it can be found in 1716 when Cosimo III Grand Duke of Tuscany issued an edict indicating the areas destined for the production of quality wine.
